Le C’s Patisserie Expands to Middleton, Offering Boba and Matcha Cakes

Le C’s, the popular patisserie and tea house located in the 400 block of State Street, is set to open a new, larger location in Middleton this February. The expansion aims to cater to the west side audience who appreciates Le C’s offerings, including their renowned ancient brown sugar bubble milk tea and matcha Japanese soufflé cheesecake.

The decision to open a new spot at 7601 Elmwood Ave. comes from a desire to capture patrons from the west side of Madison, who often find it challenging to visit the downtown location except on weekends. Patrick Liu, responsible for managing tech operations at Le C’s, highlighted the demographic differences between the west side and downtown customers, stating that the west side typically consists of working professionals.

Le C’s, owned by Hannah Liu along with partners Joan Cao and Quinny Chen, first opened its doors in 2020. The bakery is known for its diverse offerings, including boba (bubble tea), layered cakes, savory buns, and cheesecake. The menu features a rotation of products based on experimentation and customer preferences.

The new Middleton location, spanning about 2,200 square feet, will offer a similar menu but with additional equipment, providing opportunities for culinary expansion. The extended kitchen space and advanced oven open up possibilities for introducing new items to the menu.

Top sellers at Le C’s include pistachio cheesecake and green tea matcha layer cake. The menu is known for its variety, and the bakery constantly experiments with new ideas.

With expanded facilities, Le C’s aims to attract more patrons from the west side, offering the same operating hours as the downtown location—11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The Middleton spot is expected to be more accessible for delivery services like Uber Eats and Door Dash. Le C’s also plans to hire four or five new staff members for the new location.
