Milk Tea Prices Rise Amid Increase In Milk Powder Costs

Starting from midnight on March 31, the price of a cup of milk tea has risen by Rs.10.

This price hike was announced by the All-Island Canteen and Restaurant Owners’ Association, citing the government’s recent decision to increase the cost of imported milk powder.

The price adjustment follows a March 18 announcement by milk powder importers, who confirmed a 4.7% price increase for milk powder products, effective from April 1.

As a result, the cost of a 400g packet of imported milk powder is expected to rise by approximately Rs.50.
