Cozy Seven, the award-winning café on Shirley Road in Southampton, hosted a special Mother’s Day afternoon tea event, attracting a sold-out crowd of 33 guests.
The café, which was named the Daily Echo’s Café of the Year in 2024, welcomed families between 4 pm and 6 pm, offering a delightful experience complete with prosecco upon arrival.
Manager Lisa Aldridge noted that the café had to turn away some families due to capacity constraints, highlighting the popularity of the event. “Mother’s Day is special, and you want to treat your mum and make them feel special,” she said.
The event featured a selection of specialty teas, sandwiches, savory bites like scotch eggs, and sweet treats such as cakes and brownies.
Cozy Seven, owned by local entrepreneurs Mark Dunham and Simon Shobande, has been open since September 2024 and is now focusing on hosting unique events like quiz nights and cheese boards to enhance its community appeal.
The café’s warm atmosphere has attracted a loyal following, with regulars appreciating the personalized service and welcoming environment.
