Award-winning Taiwanese boba brand, Chicha San Chen, has finally made its way to Houston, and it’s already living up to the hype. Known for its exceptional tea brews and celebrated with multiple accolades from the International Taste Institute, the chain’s arrival in Houston is a treat for boba lovers.
The soft opening, located at 9750 Bellaire Blvd, saw a line form early as eager customers awaited the debut of this acclaimed boba chain. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the fresh, inviting scent of high-quality tea.
The franchise owners, Levi Huang and Vera Pei, ensured that every detail, from the decor to the tea aromas, enhanced the experience. Even the walls are adorned with dried tea leaves, infusing the space with the essence of freshly brewed tea.
Chicha San Chen has built its reputation on its dedication to using real tea leaves, brewing each batch fresh, ensuring the highest quality and flavor in every cup.
I was impressed by how each drink stood out with distinct flavors, a testament to the brand’s attention to detail.
Unlike many other boba spots, where tea flavors are often lost behind heavy syrups and flavorings, Chicha San Chen’s “teapresso” machine concentrates the tea, offering a richer and more vibrant taste.
As someone who’s sampled boba from all over, I appreciated the chance to taste the true essence of each tea base. The Honey Osmanthus Oolong tea stood out as a floral and refreshing option, perfect for Houston’s warm weather.
Their Taro Milk Tea and the unique High Mountain Pouchong Tea with Mango also left a lasting impression.
With its commitment to fresh ingredients and quality tea, Chicha San Chen is a welcome addition to Houston’s bubble tea scene, and it’s definitely worth the visit for any serious tea lover.
