Fresno’s latest boba tea hotspot, Bubble Pop Tea, is offering more than just refreshing drinks—it’s an immersive K-pop experience.
Located at 681 East Nees Ave., the shop’s walls are adorned with purple murals and posters of South Korean boy bands like BTS and ZB1, setting the stage for a unique fusion of boba tea and K-pop culture.
Owner Sengphiane Kim, a Fresno native, returned to the city after 14 years, bringing her daughter Hailey’s love for K-pop to life through this new venture. “I love Fresno. I just missed my hometown,” Kim shared. With a background in the restaurant industry, Kim ventured into boba tea after running her own pizza business, learning the ropes of bubble tea along the way.
The colorful 1,100-square-foot space is more than just a tea shop—it’s a celebration of Korean culture. Music videos from K-pop stars play on the TV, while a menu full of K-pop-inspired drinks tempts visitors.
One of the most popular drinks, Run Ube Run, takes inspiration from BTS’s hit song, offering a purple yam-flavored milk tea with coconut shreds and puff cream. Other drinks include Lovers in Okinawa, a blend of brown sugar milk tea with coffee jelly, cheese foam, and brown sugar syrup.
The shop also serves a variety of specialty fruit teas, including Love Lee Lychee with lychee jelly, and La Vie en Rose, combining rose fruit tea with real rose petals and lychee syrup. Alongside drinks, customers can enjoy snacks like banh mi sandwiches, pork belly bowls, and treats such as Pocky sticks and Meiji Hello Panda biscuits.
Bubble Pop Tea had its soft opening in February and plans to celebrate its grand opening on April 5, with K-pop photocards given out to visitors. The store operates from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. With its delicious drinks, fun atmosphere, and K-pop flair, Bubble Pop Tea is the new must-visit spot for boba lovers in Fresno.
