TE’AMO Boba Bar, a popular Chicago-based bubble tea franchise, will soon open its doors in Evanston, taking over the spot previously occupied by Latin fusion restaurant Mas Salud on Clark Street.
With over a dozen locations across Illinois and other outlets in four additional states, TE’AMO is expanding its presence in the region. The space at 720 Clark Street, which Mas Salud occupied from April 2023 until its closure in late 2024, now features a franchise opportunity for TE’AMO alongside Cotti Coffee and dumplings signage.
Located just a couple of stores away from another boba chain, Kung Fu Tea, TE’AMO will contribute to the increasingly crowded boba market in downtown Evanston, which already boasts several national bubble tea brands, such as Happy Lemon, Ume Tea, and Möge Tee.
Despite the competition, TE’AMO stands out with its unique packaging—drinks are served in plastic bottles with gold-colored lids reminiscent of soda cans.
Their menu offers a variety of milk teas, matcha lattes, sparkling lemonades, smoothies, and even mochi donuts, coconut jelly, mille crepe cakes, and bao buns with cheesecake filling.
Though local boba shops often include food offerings, TE’AMO’s distinct appeal comes from its premium, visually striking presentation and extensive menu variety.
In a town saturated with bubble tea choices, TE’AMO’s addition promises to be another exciting stop for milk tea lovers in Evanston.
