Aldi has jumped on the viral bubble tea trend this Easter with their new bubble tea-themed chocolate cups, which have quickly gained attention on TikTok.
Marketed as a novelty treat, these bubble tea-inspired Easter eggs feature a white chocolate shell filled with marshmallows, fake Maltesers, and a stick of rock as the “straw.” However, instead of the usual tea and tapioca balls, you get a sugary sweet combination that’s more about the look than the flavor.
At £7.99 each, the Easter eggs are not exactly cheap, and many of them were found cracked on the shelves. The bright pink and orange hues of the strawberry and mango flavors might not be the most appetizing sight, but the product isn’t as bad as initially anticipated.
While the chocolate itself is overly sweet with an artificial strawberry flavor, it’s not unpleasant, and the faux Maltesers and marshmallows add a bit of texture.
Despite being more style than substance, the product could be a fun novelty for those who enjoy quirky chocolate treats. For others, there are better options at this price point.
