Junbi Matcha & Tea, a popular Southern California-based matcha franchise, is set to open its first Bay Area location in Mountain View by mid-April. Known for its fruit-forward matcha cold brews, Junbi offers a refreshing twist on the traditional matcha drink. With a focus on fruit-infused matcha cold brews, soft serve, and other unique tea beverages, Junbi aims to bring a lighter, more accessible alternative to the region’s typical milk-based matcha lattes.
Founder Jessica Gee, a biotech professional and matcha enthusiast, is bringing Junbi’s innovative menu to Mountain View, inspired by the brand’s popularity in Southern California. “Junbi’s cold brew method makes matcha more palatable and accessible, turning it into a fruit tea drink that’s lighter and refreshing,” Gee said.
Junbi’s menu features matcha cold brews made with water and fruit purees in flavors like blueberry, guava, mango, strawberry, and yuzu dragon fruit. For a creamy option, guests can add dairy or dairy alternatives such as oat, organic soy, or coconut milk. The drink is also customizable with toppings like boba, almond jelly, and aloe.
In addition to cold brews, Junbi offers a variety of matcha lattes, hojicha drinks, fruit teas, milk teas, and a small coffee menu. For food, customers can enjoy made-to-order rice bowls, rice balls, and soft serve sundaes.
Junbi’s signature matcha is sourced from a 100-year-old Japanese farm that uses traditional stone-milling to create premium matcha, ensuring superior flavor and quality.
The new Mountain View location will introduce new menu items, including pear and peach purees, and continues Junbi’s mission of making matcha more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
