Tim Hortons has officially eliminated its surcharge for non-dairy milk alternatives across Canada, making it easier and more affordable for customers to enjoy their favorite beverages with plant-based options.
A spokesperson for the coffee chain confirmed to Dished that there is now no additional charge for non-dairy substitutes across all its drinks. This move aligns Tim Hortons with other major coffee chains like Starbucks and Good Earth, which made similar changes in late 2024.
Although Tim Hortons never charged extra for non-dairy alternatives in its tea and coffee offerings, the surcharge was previously applied to espresso-based drinks and Iced Capps. This change, which took effect in January 2025, means that the surcharge has now been removed for all beverages.
With over 4,000 locations nationwide, this decision simplifies and reduces costs for Canadian guests who prefer non-dairy milk in their drinks. The move also follows a class-action lawsuit earlier this year, where Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and Second Cup were named for their non-dairy milk surcharges.
