Tastea Brings Big-City Boba And Cozy Vibes To Spokane’S South Hill

Nestled in the heart of Spokane’s South Hill, Tastea Coffee and Boba Lounge is redefining the bubble tea experience with a menu packed with the latest trends and mouthwatering flavors. From fruit jams to indulgent cheese foams and even dirty sodas, Tastea is all about delivering big-city boba in a warm, welcoming space designed for sipping, snapping, and socializing.

The cozy lounge, which opened on September 17, is the brainchild of married couple Meagan and Vinh Phung, who are no strangers to the entrepreneurial world. Before Tastea, the duo ran Gloss Nail Lounge, which has been a staple in the area for over three years. Their journey to owning their own boba spot started with a tough realization: living paycheck to paycheck during the challenges of COVID and inflation wasn’t sustainable. Vinh, who grew up in Vietnam, and Meagan, who spent her time in the beauty industry, knew it was time for a change.

Now, with four kids in tow, the couple’s passion project has come to life. The family dynamic is strong at Tastea, with their eldest daughter, Brooklynn, even pitching in for shifts. “She’s super responsible, and I love watching her connect with customers,” Meagan says proudly. Brooklynn’s favorite drink? Brooklynn’s Matcha, a delightful vanilla matcha topped with strawberry cold foam.

While Tastea offers all the trendy boba creations you could dream of, it’s their Vietnamese coffee that truly stands out. Rooted in the family’s heritage, Vinh wanted to serve up the best Vietnamese coffee in town, and the reviews confirm they’ve succeeded. “We’re proud of the coffee we make,” Vinh says. “We’ve worked hard to perfect it.”

Despite their passion for coffee, they initially had plans to sell banh mi, but encountered challenges with the commercial kitchen requirements. Instead, they’ve partnered with the Blissful Whisk to offer sweet treats for now, with plans for more exciting offerings in the future, including charcuterie boards from Oh My Charcuterie and refreshing ice cream in the summer.

If you’re getting a manicure or pedicure at Gloss Nail Lounge, why not make your experience even more enjoyable with a visit to Tastea? Guests can sip on refreshing boba while getting pampered, or if they’re in the mood for something bubbly, they can opt for one of the complimentary mimosas that come with every manicure or pedicure.

Whether you’re there for a drink, a snack, or just to unwind with friends, Tastea provides a laid-back yet stylish environment that’s perfect for taking photos, enjoying a sweet treat, and chatting over a delicious cup of boba. So, head on over to Tastea, where each sip is as delightful as the next.
