Icy Bubbles Opens Second Shop In Moline, Offering Unique Rolled Ice Cream & Boba Drinks

Icy Bubbles, a beloved spot for rolled ice cream and bubble tea, has officially opened its second location in Moline, near Moline High School. Owners Thuan and Jayde Nguyen have expanded their business to 3601 Avenue of the Cities, marking a new chapter in their journey of serving up delicious, customized treats.

“We’re excited to bring Icy Bubbles to a new part of town,” said Thuan Nguyen. “We started this venture five years ago, and expanding feels like the natural next step.” The first location, at 4601 16th St., has been serving the Moline community since 2019. Now, residents near the Avenue of the Cities have a new spot to enjoy the shop’s signature rolled ice cream and bubble tea concoctions.

At Icy Bubbles, everything is made fresh to order. Rolled ice cream starts as a liquid base and is frozen on a cold surface right before customers’ eyes. With a variety of toppings and flavors, patrons can mix and match to create their perfect dessert. Popular choices include fruity and chocolate-based creations, while the boba tea menu features vibrant flavors with chewy tapioca pearls or popping boba for an added burst of sweetness.

Their new shop has already garnered attention for its fun atmosphere, complete with neon signage and a cozy, welcoming environment. General Manager Michelle Lam said the brown sugar milk tea has quickly become a fan favorite at the new location, blending creamy sweetness with boba pearls for a satisfying drink.

“We’re proud of the uniqueness of what we offer,” said Jayde Nguyen. “All our recipes are developed in-house, and we’re passionate about delivering quality with every order.” Icy Bubbles also offers a range of other drinks, including fruit teas, smoothies, and slushies, making it the perfect stop for any sweet tooth or bubble tea lover.

As the business continues to expand, the Nguyens are already planning their next venture: a third location in Davenport, set to open in May 2025. The upcoming shop will be located next to Red Lobster on Kimberly Road and will follow the same formula of fresh, custom desserts and drinks that have made Icy Bubbles so popular in Moline.

The couple credits their success to hard work and collaboration. “There were a lot of hurdles to overcome—building the shop, getting inspections, and hiring the right staff,” Thuan noted. “But we’ve always had support from each other, our close friends, and our amazing managers, Joe and Michelle, who have been with us since the beginning.”

In addition to their expanding footprint, Icy Bubbles remains committed to bringing fresh, high-quality treats to the community. “We’re here to offer more than just desserts,” said Jayde. “We want to create a memorable experience for every customer, whether they’re stopping by for a quick treat or spending time with friends and family.”

As Moline’s dessert scene continues to grow, Icy Bubbles stands out for its dedication to innovation and quality. Visit their new location today to experience the buzz around their unique rolled ice cream and bubble tea offerings!
