Celebrate Cha Chaan Teng Delights At Edison Chen’s “CLOT Cafe” Pop-Up

Edison Chen unveiled a unique pop-up experience called “CLOT Cafe” at the renowned Hong Kong-style eatery, Tong Fat Tou, situated in the vibrant Xintiandi district of Shanghai. This exciting initiative will run from October 12 to October 31, aiming to merge classic elements of the traditional tea restaurant experience with modern creativity. Diners can look forward to relishing delectable dishes while immersing themselves in a rich cultural fusion.

The “CLOT Cafe” pop-up boasts a design that pays homage to the iconic retro white and green mosaic tiles commonly found in cha chaan tengs. This nostalgic aesthetic is beautifully complemented by CLOT’s signature Silk Royale silk motifs. The space is further enhanced with lively street-style neon signage that evokes the local charm of Hong Kong, creating a masterful blend of traditional and contemporary styles.

During this limited-time event, guests can indulge in a special menu featuring five exclusive set meals that spotlight beloved cha chaan teng dishes. Highlights include savory satay beef noodles, baked pork chop rice, stir-fried beef ho fun, French toast, and delightful pineapple buns. Each meal is paired with a choice of rich and creamy iced milk tea or hot milk tea, all served in exclusive “CLOT Cafe” tableware that adds an extra layer of visual appeal to the dining experience.

In addition to the culinary offerings, “CLOT Cafe” will host a limited-time merchandise store from now until October 21. This pop-up shop will feature an array of exclusive items, including short- and long-sleeve T-shirts, stylish hats, tote bags, and themed tableware. Each piece draws inspiration from classic cha chaan teng elements, allowing fans to take home a piece of this cultural celebration.

This pop-up not only celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Hong Kong but also serves as a creative platform for cultural exchange, inviting Shanghai residents and visitors alike to experience the vibrant essence of cha chaan teng culture.
