Leeds is about to welcome its very first permanent bubble tea café, as popular brand CUPP moves from its kiosk location at Trinity Leeds to a larger, permanent space. The announcement marks another significant milestone for the city’s growing bubble tea scene, which has experienced a recent surge in popularity.
Since its initial opening in 2021 as a kiosk just outside Boots and Trinity Kitchen, CUPP has built a loyal following, offering a selection of premium bubble teas made with real fruit and quality ingredients. Now, with signage revealing its new home adjacent to Batch’d on the first floor of Trinity Leeds, CUPP is set to open the shopping centre’s first-ever boba café.
Founded in 2012, CUPP has become known for its innovative take on bubble tea, with customer favorites such as the Brown Sugar Milk Boba, Mango Fruit Tea, and Strawberry Fruit Tea. The new café will continue to offer these popular beverages alongside hot bubble teas and a variety of sweet treats.
This expansion comes at a time when the bubble tea market in Leeds is booming. Earlier this year, international bubble tea chain Tiger Sugar opened its second UK location on the Headrow, and Chinese tea giant HeyTea recently opened on Briggate, bringing even more variety to the city’s vibrant tea scene.
CUPP’s move to a permanent café location is a testament to the rising demand for quality bubble tea in Leeds, and it is set to become a go-to destination for both regular customers and new boba enthusiasts.
