Starbucks Japan has launched an enticing new product tailored for visitors: the Starbucks Premium Mixes Matcha Latte with a reusable cup. This unique offering, created in collaboration with Nestlé, is set to captivate both coffee enthusiasts and tourists seeking authentic Japanese souvenirs.
The new gift set includes a box of matcha latte sachets and a beautifully designed reusable cup, both inspired by Japanese culture. The matcha latte sachets are “stick-type,” allowing users to prepare a delicious latte by simply adding boiling water. Each set contains four sachets, providing a convenient way to enjoy the smooth, creamy flavors of green tea at home or in the office.
Accompanying the matcha sachets is a specially designed reusable cup, exclusive to this set. The cup features a vibrant array of Japanese motifs, including sushi, lanterns, origami, and bonsai, alongside iconic symbols such as a torii gate, a pagoda, and Mt. Fuji, all surrounded by sakura cherry blossoms. This design not only enhances the drinking experience but also serves as a lasting memento of a visit to Japan.
Interestingly, the Starbucks Premium Mixes Matcha Latte with Reusable Cup will not be available in traditional Starbucks stores. Instead, it will be sold at select souvenir shops and convenience stores in major international airports, such as Haneda and Narita. This strategy aligns with the growing influx of tourists, making it easier for visitors to find and purchase the gift set during their travels.
Japan has seen a record surge in tourism, welcoming 21.06 million visitors from January to July of this year. Starbucks aims to tap into this expanding market with its new offering. The gift set, launched on September 24, is priced at 1,760 yen (approximately US$12.27), positioning it as an affordable yet delightful souvenir for travelers.
This innovative blend of Starbucks and Japanese culture not only enhances the tourist experience but also serves as a conversation starter upon returning home. Whether enjoyed immediately or kept as a cherished keepsake, the Matcha Latte with Reusable Cup is sure to be a hit among visitors to Japan.
