Starbucks has unveiled its first Reserve store in South Korea, Jangchung Lounge R, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Reserve coffee offerings in the country. The new location, situated in Jung-gu, Seoul, spans three floors and accommodates up to 180 guests, offering a unique coffee experience inspired by the 1960s.
Housed in a preserved building from that era, Starbucks maintained the original architectural features, including doorbells, closets, and staircases, to preserve its historical integrity. The company’s efforts to blend heritage with modernity are immediately visible upon entry, where an augmented reality mural illustrates Starbucks’ journey from coffee bean cultivation to roasting, and finally, brewing.
Each of the three floors is divided into seven distinct themed spaces, ranging from a cozy lounge and music room to an outdoor garden. One of the standout attractions is the Mixology bar, which serves a variety of coffee cocktails such as Espresso Martini, Latte Whisky Martini, Citrus Cold Brew Martini, and Bourbon Whiskey Cream Cold Brew. For those seeking alcohol-free alternatives, options like White Moscato Sangria and Strawberry Lemon Vodka Blended are available.
Additionally, the Jangchung Lounge R introduces an exclusive “Espresso Flight,” a trio of drinks featuring Starbucks Reserve espresso paired with unique flavor profiles such as chocolate powder, French vanilla cream, and Jeju Palsak sherbet. This offering is exclusive to Starbucks Reserve locations in South Korea.
With its blend of tradition, innovation, and artisanal coffee experiences, the Jangchung Lounge R aims to become a flagship destination for coffee enthusiasts in Seoul.
