Bobavita Moves to Downtown St Pete for Authentic Vietnamese Boba Cafe

Mina Kreitler, a Vietnamese-born entrepreneur who has settled in St. Petersburg, aims to introduce locals to the bold and unique flavors of authentic Vietnamese coffee and boba teas.

“We have boba shops on every corner in my country,” Kreitler shared with St. Pete Rising while working in her new storefront on Central Avenue.

Bubble tea, a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s, made its way to the United States in the 1990s.

BobaVita Coffee and Boba Bar has now relocated to the ground floor of the Arte luxury apartment building at 1661 Central Avenue. The establishment was previously situated inside the Edge Eatery at 1572 Central Avenue.

The new store will have a soft opening from July 22nd to 27th, with a 20% discount on drinks during the opening weekend.

BobaVita shares its space with Mibella Nail Lounge and Spa, another business owned by Kreitler. The new location will join other ground-floor tenants at Arte, including Raining Berries, which serves acai bowls and coffee, and Mammamia Gelato Italiano.

BobaVita offers a range of herbal teas, milk teas, matcha teas, and coffee. Milk tea flavors include black, oolong, Thai, taro, and strawberry brown sugar. These milk teas come with boba, the chewy tapioca pearls, or customers can opt for strawberry, peach, or mango “popping” boba, which are gel-like balls filled with juice that burst upon squeezing.

The menu also features various matcha lattes, including mango, strawberry, and coconut, as well as fruity herbal teas such as lychee, peach, and passionfruit. The coffee selection includes typical espresso-based drinks like americano, cappuccino, coconut macchiato, and both iced and frozen lattes.

Kreitler sources the coffee beans and other ingredients directly from Vietnam. Additionally, BobaVita offers alcoholic boba beverages, such as the Brown Sugar Baby, made with coffee, Baileys, and Kahlua, and fruity cocktail drinks like Dance with the Sunrise, crafted with orange, peach, and strawberry flavors mixed with Highnoon hard seltzer.

Most drinks on the menu are priced around $7.50.
