Chatime, the global bubble tea brand founded in Taiwan in 2005, has announced the appointment of Carlos Antonius as its new global CEO. Antonius, who has been the CEO of Chatime Australia since 2015, will now oversee the brand’s 1,500 locations worldwide. Under his leadership, Chatime Australia expanded to 200 locations, and he aims to help the brand reach its target of 2,500 locations by 2027, according to a company press release.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Chatime into the next phase of growth,” Antonius said. “I look forward to executing our growth strategy and collaborating with the board, our leadership team, and our partners to realize our brand’s full potential.”
Before joining Chatime, Antonius held key roles in other companies, including business development director at Nando’s, a fast-casual chicken restaurant chain based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and at Gelatissimo, a gelato brand founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2002.
