Food Expo PRO Returns in August with Hong Kong International Tea Fair

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Food Expo PRO and Hong Kong International Tea Fair are set to take place concurrently from August 15 to 17, 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These events will showcase global foods, beverages, tea, and related products, serving as a premier sourcing platform for F&B importers, wholesalers, retailers, and e-tailers. While the fairs are exclusively open to trade buyers on the first two days, they will welcome public ticket-holders on August 17. Additionally, the Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo, and Home Delights Expo will run concurrently at the venue from August 15 to 19. The collective event is expected to host approximately 2,000 exhibitors.

Food Expo PRO: Asia’s Leading F&B Trade Event

Food Expo PRO will feature pavilions from various countries and regions, including Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and ASEAN nations such as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This diverse lineup promises an international food festival experience. Notably, the “Food Science and Technology” zone will spotlight alternative and future food products, catering to professional buyers. The exhibition will also highlight “Halal Food & Beverage” offerings.

The ready-meals market will be a focal point, with Food Expo PRO showcasing a range of convenient meal options from exhibitors across Mainland China, showcasing unique regional flavors from provinces like Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan, and Zhejiang.

Seminars and forums will complement the exhibition, covering industry developments and market opportunities. The Food Tech Symposium will feature discussions on technological advancements, innovations in food manufacturing, and sustainability in the food industry. This year’s event will particularly focus on exploring the growth, challenges, and opportunities within the Halal Market, emphasizing Hong Kong’s role in facilitating Halal food trade across the region.

Hong Kong International Tea Fair: Nurturing the Tea Business

Additionally, the Hong Kong International Tea Competition will judge teas in categories like Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Black Tea, Raw Pu’er, and others, with awards for aroma and taste excellence.

The fair will feature engaging activities such as tea tasting sessions, International Tea Art Performances, and the International and Greater Bay Area KamCha Competition – Final, celebrating Hong Kong-style milk tea. The ‘1st Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum 2024’ on August 16 aims to foster international dialogue on tea culture and industry development.
