Sacramento has welcomed its first self-serve boba experience, offering a cost-effective and customizable option for bubble tea enthusiasts. At Honeybee Boba Cafe, customers can create their own drinks from a variety of toppings and tea flavors for a flat rate of $6 per cup, bypassing the traditional wait for a barista.
Owner and Sacramento resident Ahn Luu showcased the innovative setup, explaining the dynamic nature of the offerings. “We change the flavors weekly. Sometimes you’ll come one day and the next day we’ll have different flavors,” Luu said. During her demonstration, she crafted a vibrant honeydew lemonade drink with fruit-flavored popping boba. On Wednesday, other available flavors included taro milk tea and Thai tea.
Honeybee Boba Cafe is conveniently located near the Sacramento State campus at 6505 Folsom Boulevard.
