California Tea Chain Krak Boba Enters Texas with First Shop in Addison

Texas is set to welcome more boba from California with the arrival of Krak Boba, a small but popular chain, which is opening its first location in Addison at 3767 Belt Line Rd. The grand opening is scheduled for May 25.

Founded in Riverside, California, by CEO Tin Do and two partners in 2020, Krak Boba has rapidly expanded, with a dozen locations in Southern California and one in Orlando, Florida. Now, they are ready to make their mark in Texas.

Krak Boba is not the first California-based boba chain to venture into Texas; Lazi Cow from Northern California recently opened a location in Frisco. However, Tin Do is confident about Krak Boba’s prospects in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area.

“Addison is just the beginning. We have high-quality franchise partners who are eager to expand our presence in Texas, with plans for multiple stores throughout the greater Dallas Metropolitan area,” Do said. “We believe this location will be well-received by the community.”

The chain’s name is inspired by the 1979 children’s story “King Krakus and the Dragon,” which is reflected in some of the drink names and the overall dragon-themed branding.

Menu Highlights

Krak Boba offers a diverse menu that includes milk teas, fruit teas, coffee drinks, and smoothies. Some of the standout items include:

Queen Brûlée: A blend of milk, crème brûlée syrup, brown sugar, and boba.

Strawberry Snow: Strawberry “snow” shaved ice topped with cream.
Matcha Storm: Matcha slush topped with sea salt cream and salted caramel.

Dragon Slayer: Lychee slush with dragon fruit and mango.
All drinks are served in a “large” 24-ounce size and are priced between $5 and $7, with additional toppings such as boba and cream available for an extra 85 cents each.

Quality and Development

Krak Boba prides itself on rigorous quality control and customer satisfaction. Before new flavors are added to the menu, they undergo a thorough testing process involving team members. Only drinks that receive an average score of A- or higher make the cut.

“We believe in involving our team in the development process to ensure we offer only the best to our customers,” Do explained.

As Krak Boba opens its doors in Addison, residents can look forward to indulging in a variety of unique and delicious bubble tea options. With plans for further expansion in the DFW area, this California tea chain aims to become a staple in the Texas boba scene.
