Starbucks Introduces New Boba-Style Drinks with Flavorful “Pearls”

As summer approaches, Starbucks is unveiling its own interpretation of bubble tea beverages, adding a refreshing twist to its menu offerings.

The renowned coffee chain is now presenting three new Starbucks Refreshers beverages, each featuring raspberry-flavored “pearls” nestled at the bottom of the cup, infusing the drinks with a burst of fruity flavor. These enticing creations are available nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last, according to the company.

The trio of beverages—Summer-Berry, Summer-Berry with Lemonade, and Summer Skies drinks—each showcases vibrant raspberry-flavored pearls, inspired by the beloved East Asian beverages adorned with boba or bubble tea tapioca balls.

Starbucks’ team of beverage experts drew inspiration from these iconic beverages, aiming to craft a unique and vibrant experience for customers. “We started with fruit pieces, but we wanted something even bolder,” remarked Starbucks beverage developer Simon Vuong in a feature on the Starbucks website. “So, we thought, ‘Let’s put fruit-flavored pearls in the beverage and try it out.’ It’s very fun the way it delivers the flavor when it pops in your mouth.”

As Starbucks continues to innovate and diversify its offerings, these new boba-style drinks promise to delight customers with their playful combination of flavors and textures. Whether enjoyed as a refreshing pick-me-up or a delightful treat on a warm summer day, these beverages are sure to add a touch of excitement to the Starbucks experience.
