New Boba Tea Shop “Hi! Boba Tea” Opens in Port Orange

Boba tea enthusiasts in Port Orange have a new reason to rejoice with the grand opening of Hi! Boba Tea on Monday. After months of anticipation, the eatery, documented extensively on social media, is now welcoming patrons to experience its diverse menu offerings.

Situated within the plaza at the southeast corner of Clyde Morris Boulevard and Madeline Avenue, Hi! Boba Tea shares space with local favorites such as Asian House, Hibachi Express, and Jet’s Pizza. The establishment prides itself on offering a wide selection of bubble tea, smoothies, lemonades, and desserts.

Manager Ken Liu notes that while larger neighboring cities like Jacksonville and Orlando boast numerous authentic boba shops, the Daytona area has only a handful, making Port Orange an attractive market for this traditional treat.

“It’s been a while (in the making),” Liu said. “We’re very excited.”

The menu at Hi! Boba Tea is extensive, catering to both seasoned boba enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Let’s delve into what this new hotspot has to offer.

What is Boba Tea?

Boba tea, also known as bubble tea, originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. It typically consists of chilled tea combined with soft tapioca balls, providing a unique texture and flavor experience.

Types of Boba Tea

While boba tea comes in countless variations, the most common type is milk tea, which combines iced black tea with milk or a non-dairy alternative, tapioca pearls, and flavorings.

Hi! Boba Tea’s Offerings

The menu at Hi! Boba Tea features a diverse range of options, including:

Milk Tea: Available in various flavors such as brown sugar, jasmine, mango, and vanilla.

Smoothies: Options include mango and pineapple, piña colada, matcha, and strawberry.

Signature Drinks: Try the strawberry bubble milk or choose from other creative concoctions.

Cheese Teas: Enjoy freshly-brewed Oolong tea topped with creamy cheese foam in flavors like white peach and lychee.

Desserts: Indulge in ice jelly bowls featuring flavors like brown sugar, grapefruit passion, and strawberry mango.

One standout dessert is the ice jelly bowl, a refreshing treat that combines clear jelly with shaved ice, fruits, and other toppings.

With its diverse menu and inviting ambiance, Hi! Boba Tea promises to be a delightful addition to the Port Orange dining scene, offering a sweet escape for boba enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike.
