Twrl Milk Tea, a San Francisco-based plant-based food and beverage company, has announced a partnership with the Taiwanese American Federation of Northern California (TAFNC) and Taiwanese American illustrator Eugenia Yoh to unveil a special edition can design for its popular Taiwan-Style Black Milk Tea.
The collaboration, inspired by the founders’ Taiwanese and Chinese heritage and the Federation’s commitment to community building, aims to highlight Taiwan’s significance as the birthplace of bubble milk tea through meaningful storytelling.
Olivia Chen, co-founder of Twrl Milk Tea, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “We are proud to introduce this special edition in collaboration with TAFNC and Eugenia Yoh, celebrating our third year as a small business and paying homage to Taiwan and Taiwanese tea farmers.”
Scott Lai, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in San Francisco, emphasized the cultural and economic exchange between Taiwan and California, stating, “This ‘Inclusivi-tea’ campaign is a creative collaboration that represents the heart of Taiwan and its commitment to sustainability, strengthening the sense of community between the people of Taiwan and California.”
The special edition cans will be distributed nationally through Twrl Milk Tea’s retail partners, including Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wegmans, and Central Market, in addition to being available at events organized by Taiwanese American community organizations.
Jim Chang, President of TAFNC, highlighted the campaign’s goal of introducing Taiwan’s heritage to a new audience while advocating for Taiwan’s recognition and support.
Twrl Milk Tea offers low-sugar cafe-like Boba Milk Tea made with single-origin teas and climate-friendly pea milk sourced from organic family farms.
