A Vietnamese Boba Shop’s Unusual Twist: Green Onions in Milk Tea?

In an unexpected turn of events, a milk tea shop in Vietnam, Young Coffee & Tea, has stirred up intrigue by adding chopped green onions to their milk tea concoctions.

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the shop’s audacious experimentation quickly grabbed the attention of TikTok content creators, who bravely took on the challenge of trying this unusual combination.

According to reports from VGT TV, the trend sparked curiosity among bubble tea enthusiasts, prompting some to recreate their own versions of the drink using various bubble tea brands.

Initially conceived as a joke, Young Coffee & Tea decided to embrace the unconventional idea and offer it on their menu.

Available for purchase on platforms like ShopeeFood and Grab for approximately VND49,000 (RM9), the peculiar beverage is described as topped with ‘cheese,’ water chestnuts, and a ‘cat’s paw,’ while the green onion toppings are served separately, allowing customers to customize their experience.

However, not everyone was convinced by this unorthodox creation, with some skeptics hoping it was merely a humorous prank.
