Frisco, Texas, is set to welcome a taste of California’s boba tea scene with the arrival of Lazi Cow, a beloved family-run chain renowned for its cute cow theme and expansive selection of beverages. Anticipated to open its doors by July, Lazi Cow’s inaugural Texas outpost will be situated at 4800 Eldorado Pkwy. #200, expanding its footprint beyond the West Coast for the first time.
The brainchild of Jimmy Phu, Lazi Cow has been serving up its signature drinks adorned with adorable cow-themed visuals since its inception in 2014. With five thriving locations across Northern California, the expansion to Texas is spearheaded by Frisco resident Kathy Kim, Phu’s cousin.
Central to Lazi Cow’s appeal is its whimsical cow theme, evident not only in its charming visuals but also in its cleverly crafted drink names. Alongside its wide-ranging menu featuring fruit tea, milk tea, coffee, slushies, smoothies, and milkshakes, patrons can expect a playful fusion of Asian flavors, including taro and green tea.
A highlight of Lazi Cow’s offerings includes:
- Dinh Taro: A delightful taro latte infused with coconut and fresh milk.
- Cowchata Milk Shake: Indulge in a cinnamon toast crunch milkshake reminiscent of childhood favorites.
- Pakkun: Treat your taste buds to an orange creamsicle shake bursting with citrusy goodness.
- Neighbor Totaro: Savor the richness of a taro milkshake topped with whipped cream and Oreo crumbs.
- Shinobu: Experience a harmonious blend of tartness and sweetness with a vanilla berry milkshake.
In keeping with its family-friendly ethos, Lazi Cow ensures a diverse menu catering to both adults and children alike. Kim emphasizes their commitment to offering options that appeal to young palates, with an array of slushies and smoothies alongside their signature milk teas.
To complement their beverage selection, Lazi Cow will also offer an assortment of snack items, including French fries, popcorn chicken, and Taiyaki—a crispy Japanese fish-shaped cake filled with delectable fillings such as red bean paste, custard, or Nutella.
Designed with comfort and community in mind, the Frisco location will feature seating for up to 20 guests and will incorporate family-friendly entertainment options such as foosball and board games. The interior ambiance will reflect a modern and simplistic aesthetic, characterized by concrete floors and sleek black tones.
“We want to create a space where guests can relax, unwind, and enjoy quality time with friends and family,” says Kim. “In the Texas heat, there’s nothing quite like sipping on a refreshing drink and making memories together. Lazi Cow aims to be that go-to destination for locals seeking a welcoming atmosphere and delicious beverages.”
As anticipation builds for its grand opening, Frisco residents can look forward to experiencing the unique charm and irresistible flavors of Lazi Cow firsthand, adding a delightful new dimension to the city’s vibrant culinary landscape.
