Responding to escalating food production expenses, the All-Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association (ACROA) has officially declared price adjustments for several popular items, effective as of last night.
The revised prices are as follows:
Plain Tea: The cost of a cup of plain tea has been raised by Rs. 5.
Milk Tea: Customers will now see an increase of Rs. 10 for a cup of milk tea.
Rice and Curry: The price for a packet of rice and curry has been elevated by Rs. 25.
Kottu and Fried Rice: The prices for a packet of Kottu and Fried Rice each see a hike of Rs. 50.
The ACROA has attributed these adjustments to the surge in production costs, emphasizing the necessity to ensure the sustainability of food businesses amid economic challenges. In the event of decreases in the prices of consumer goods, the association has expressed its readiness to correspondingly offer concessions to the public.
These price modifications have been implemented to offset the impacts of increased operational expenditures faced by restaurant owners, allowing them to maintain quality services and offerings. The ACROA remains attentive to market dynamics and committed to fostering a balance between business viability and consumer affordability.
