Starbucks Japan Unveils Festive New Year Frappuccino Blends

In celebration of the New Year, Starbucks Japan is set to enchant customers with two delectable frappuccinos inspired by traditional holiday treats. The beverage duo, known as Hojicha Mochitto Milk Frappuccino and Hojicha Mellow Caramel Tea Latte, promises a unique blend of flavors to ring in the festivities.

The Hojicha Mochitto Milk Frappuccino draws inspiration from daifuku, a beloved sticky rice cake associated with good luck during the New Year in Japan. The drink incorporates the springy texture of daifuku, referred to as “mochitto,” using soft mochi rice cake pieces, whipped cream, and a cream-flavored sauce. Infused with the aromatic and roasted notes of hojicha, a roasted green tea, the frappuccino is set to deliver a delightful sensory experience. A layer of gyuhi, a soft mochi rice cake, contributes to the chewy texture, while a topping of whipped cream and white chocolate powder adds a finishing touch.

The Hojicha Mellow Caramel Tea Latte complements the festive lineup, combining Starbucks’ specially developed deep roasted hojicha with the lightly roasted stem hojicha. Mixed with milk, white mocha-flavored syrup, and whipped cream, the latte offers a harmonious blend of flavors with a touch of sweetness. Topped with a rich caramel sauce, the beverage aims to provide a warming and indulgent experience.

Additionally, Starbucks Japan introduces the Strawberry Lavender Tea Latte, a rich and fragrant tea latte featuring a combination of black tea and milk infused with strawberry, lavender, and bergamot. Topped with whipped cream, honey, and strawberry-flavored powder, this beverage promises a captivating and aromatic sweetness.

The Hojicha Mochitto Milk Frappuccino will be available in a Tall size for 678 yen (takeout) or 690 yen (drink-in). The Hojicha Mellow Caramel Tea Latte, available in Short through Venti sizes, ranges from 540 to 680 yen. Both offerings will be on the menu from December 26 to January 16. The Strawberry Lavender Tea Latte will extend its availability until March 12, offered in Short through Venti sizes, with prices ranging from 520 to 660 yen.

As Starbucks Japan introduces these delightful concoctions, it anticipates enriching customers’ experience as they usher in the New Year.
