Wichita recently saw the departure of Boss Tea, a Tulsa-based chain, but a new contender has quickly arrived on the scene: Sassy Tea.
This locally owned milk tea shop held its soft opening last month, and I decided to check it out to give readers a sneak peek.
Located at 7130 W Maple St., Wichita, KS 67209, Sassy Tea offers a variety of drinks, including milk teas, smoothies, lattes, sweet teas, coffee, and matcha.
For those feeling hungry, they also offer yogurt and specialty egg and fish waffles.
During my visit, the waffles weren’t available, but I had the chance to try a Vietnamese dish, the Vietnamese Rice Paper, a unique offering not commonly found in the area.
The dish had a dry rice paper texture and a slight fishiness that may not appeal to everyone, but for those familiar with it, it’s a rare treat. I also paired my meal with a fruit tea, though I’ll admit I’m not the best judge when it comes to distinguishing one fruit tea from another.
If you’re in the area and curious about the latest milk tea shop, Sassy Tea is definitely worth a stop. Check them out Monday through Saturday, from 10 am to 7:30 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm.
