New Taiwanese Boba Shop with a Deer-Themed Twist Opens in Dallas

Dallas welcomes a unique addition to its boba scene with The Alley, a brand originating from Taiwan. Conceived by graphic designer Mao Ting Chiu, The Alley combines aesthetics with boba, featuring a deer-themed mascot that mirrors the sophistication found in the shop’s diverse drink options. The brand, known for its Instagrammable appeal, has rapidly expanded worldwide, boasting over 300 locations in 265 cities.

The Garland location in North Texas caught our attention with its Pinterest-worthy ambiance. The sleek tables and soft backlights create a welcoming environment, complemented by a cactus garden adding a pop of color. Despite its unassuming location in a shopping complex, the Garland shop stands out as a place worth spending time.

The visual allure extends to the drink menu, with the brown sugar milk as a standout, featuring sweetened milk adorned with streaks of brown sugar syrup and The Alley’s unique tapioca, known as Deerioca. Other noteworthy beverages include the ube taro milk with its vibrant purple hue and the strawberry snow, featuring a velvety layer of “snow” or salty cold foam on top. For those seeking adventure, a creme brulee version of the drinks is available, featuring pockets of fluffy egg pudding.

While beverages take center stage on the menu, The Alley’s signature croffles are a must-try. These flaky croissants, pressed into a warm waffle mold, sport a puffed coating and come with various toppings like creme brulee, cocoa, and matcha.

The Alley’s extensive menu, offering a wide array of flavors and customizations, makes it a destination deserving of return visits. With warm interiors, high-quality boba, and a legion of loyal fans worldwide, The Alley is set to make its mark on Dallas’s boba scene.
