Gong Cha, one of the world’s leading bubble tea brands, has unveiled ambitious plans to expand its presence in the UK with at least 225 new store openings in the coming years.
This significant expansion, facilitated through a franchise agreement with Jinziex, will create nearly 2,000 jobs and marks a substantial leap from the brand’s current 13 locations.
The first wave of new Gong Cha stores is set to launch in April, with locations in Sidcup, Gravesend, Romford, and Hornchurch.
Jinziex, backed by experienced industry players including Goldex—one of the UK’s largest Costa Coffee franchisees—and the founder of Kaspa’s Desserts, will oversee the rollout.
This UK expansion aligns with Gong Cha’s global strategy to establish 10,000 stores worldwide by 2032. Founded in Taiwan and now headquartered in London, Gong Cha operates over 2,100 locations across the US, Australia, South Korea, and Japan.
Offering more than 600 unique flavor combinations, the brand continues to ride the wave of bubble tea’s growing popularity, particularly among Gen Z consumers.
With its expansion, Gong Cha is set to further solidify its presence in the UK’s thriving bubble tea market, bringing its signature tapioca-infused beverages to even more customers.
