Clipper Tea Expands U.S. Offerings With New Organic Herbal Blends

Clipper Tea, a certified B-Corp tea company based in the UK and known for its commitment to sustainability and quality, is expanding its presence in the U.S. market in 2024. The company is introducing two new blends that cater to growing consumer demand for bold, natural flavors—organic spicy chai herbal tea and organic mint herbal tea.

U.S. consumers can purchase Clipper Tea products at major retailers across the country and online via Amazon. In addition to existing partners like Giant Food Stores, Lowes Foods, and Town & Country Markets, the brand will now be available at National Co+op Grocers, MOM’s Organic Market, and Dave’s Fresh Marketplace. Further retail expansion is anticipated throughout the year.

“Clipper Tea has been committed to producing quality tea for 40 years—tea that’s good for both people and the planet, with 100% natural ingredients and nothing artificial,” said Ben Dell, Clipper Tea’s head of international markets. “We’re excited to launch two new blends that reflect our dedication to bold, natural flavors, including organic spicy chai and organic mint, both of which are crafted in harmony with nature.”

Known for its ethical sourcing and organic production, Clipper Tea is uniquely positioned to cater to a wide range of U.S. consumers with its premium offerings. The brand emphasizes a joyful and ethical approach to tea-making, with every blend sourced sustainably and crafted to deliver robust, natural flavors.

The Clipper Tea story began 40 years ago in a kitchen, with just two chests of Assam tea and a vision to create a tea brand grounded in ethical practices. By 1994, Clipper became the first Fairtrade-certified tea company in the UK, helping to establish the Fairtrade Standards that now guide the industry.

In 2018, Clipper pioneered the use of unbleached, non-GMO, fully biodegradable, and plastic-free tea bags, further solidifying its role as a leader in sustainable tea production. Today, the company is the world’s largest buyer of Fairtrade tea, continuously driving innovation in the category with a commitment to both quality and ethical practices.

Consumer interest in unique, natural tea blends continues to rise, with the demand for decaffeinated teas expected to grow at an 11.1% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2030, according to Fortune Business Insights. Both of Clipper’s new flavors—organic spicy chai and organic mint—are caffeine-free and meet this growing trend. While traditional chai blends often include caffeinated black tea, Clipper’s new spicy chai delivers a rich flavor with a blend of cinnamon, fennel seeds, and black pepper, all without caffeine.

The new organic mint herbal tea also satisfies the increasing consumer demand for non-caffeinated options. Market data from market.us projects that the herbal tea market will grow at a CAGR of 7.2% from 2023 to 2032, with Clipper’s new mint blend poised to meet this demand.

Like all Clipper Tea products, the new blends are crafted from ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients. The company’s “tea guys,” Dan and James, meticulously select herbs from Fairtrade and organic gardens around the world. The teas are blended in Dorset, England, with a focus on protecting biodiversity and delivering natural flavors that reflect the power of nature.

Each box of Clipper Tea’s new offerings contains 20 servings and is priced at $6.99.

“At Clipper Tea, ‘Natural, Fair & Delicious’ is more than just a tagline—it’s a guiding principle,” added Dell. “We’re not just focused on making great tea, but on doing good for the world. By choosing Clipper, consumers can enjoy a flavorful cup of tea while making a positive impact.”
