Despite the lingering cool weather in Japan, Starbucks is already gearing up for summer with the introduction of a new seasonal beverage.
The Matcha & Crushed Pistachio Milk Tea Latte, debuting exclusively at Starbucks Tea & Cafe branches, offers a unique flavor profile that promises to delight adventurous palates. These specialized branches, currently numbering 12 and located in select areas including Tokyo, Osaka, Saitama, Fukuoka, Toyama, Kyoto, and Hyogo prefectures, focus on teas, featuring the renowned Teavana brand.
This innovative beverage combines powdered green tea with a pistachio ‘milk’ concoction, comprising a blend of pistachio and cashew nuts, complemented by a shot of white mocha-flavored syrup for sweetness. Served in a tall size, the drink is divided into two layers, with the nutty ‘milk’ and crunchy pieces of pistachio and almonds forming the base, while the matcha mixture crowns the top layer, allowing for a dynamic flavor experience with every sip.
Starbucks describes the layered latte as an exploration of matcha’s charms, ideal for early summer indulgence. Available for a limited time from April 17 to July 2, customers can enjoy this specialty beverage for 687 yen for takeout or 700 yen for dine-in options, while supplies last.
Whether savored sip by sip or mixed to blend the distinct flavors, the Matcha & Crushed Pistachio Milk Tea Latte promises to be a refreshing and indulgent addition to Starbucks’ summer lineup in Japan.
